FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE:
In preparation for the new brewery opening, Ithaca Beer Co. to close doors on old tasting room this weekend.
ITHACA, N.Y. – With excitement and anticipation of opening its brand new brewery and tap room in a few short weeks, Ithaca Beer Co. will close the Tasting Room doors of the old brewery at the end of the day on Saturday, August 25, 2012. Check the website in a couple weeks for announcements about the new brewery opening.
Ithaca Beer discontinued tours of the old brewery, located at 606 Elmira Rd, earlier this month when tanks were being moved to the new brewing facility. Closing the Tasting Room is the next step in a steady transition toward opening the new brewery and tap room.
The new brewery, located at 122 Ithaca Beer Dr. (about 300 yards behind the old brewery – accessed off Rt. 13A) will feature a full-service restaurant and tap room, a beautiful beer garden, fire pits, and a bocce ball court. Ithaca Beer will also continue to sell packaged beer and offer weekend brewery tours of the new place.
Ithaca Beer was founded in 1998 by Dan Mitchell, and has steadily grown from a small local nano-brewery into a nationally recognized, award-winning brewery in the Finger Lakes region of upstate New York.
Ithaca Beer currently distributes craft beer throughout six states in the northeast (New York, Pennsylvania, Massachusetts, New Jersey, Rhode Island, Connecticut) and Ohio, with plans to continue expanding into new territory over the next few years.
