SF-IPA Now on draft in the Tasting Room
2010-08-06
Starting Friday, Augus 6th when the Tasting Room at Ithaca Beer Co. opens at 11:00AM, SF-IPA will be available for $16 growler fills.
We'll be filling growlers until it's gone, but don't wait because it's gonna go fast!
SF-IPA is an India Pale Ale brewed with very fruity Citra hops and fermented solely on Brettanomyces. SF-IPA is hazy golden in color and can best be described by Hutch, Ithaca Beer's newest addition to the brewing team as "a glorious fruit bomb!"
On Friday, June 18, 2010, Phil Leinhart from Brewery Ommegang, Scott Vaccaro from Captain Lawrence Brewing Co., Casey Hughes from Flying Fish Brewing Co., Phil Markowski from Southampton Publick House, Jeff "Chief" O'Neil and Eric "Hutch" Kugeman from Ithaca Beer Co., and special guest Steve Altimari from Valley Brewing Co. in Stockton, California joined forces in Ithaca, NY inside the Ithaca Beer Co. brew house to create a collaborative super brew titled - what else but, Super Friends, which we lovingly call, SF-IPA.
SF-IPA will also be on draft at popular craft beer bars in the Manhattan Metro area shortly and around town at special events going on during NY Beer Week.

You get Super Friends joining forces against evil to brew beer that will save the palate!
On Friday, June 18, 2010, Phil Leinhart from Brewery Ommegang, Scott Vaccaro from Captain Lawrence Brewing Co., Casey Hughes from Flying Fish Brewing Co., Spencer Niebuhr from Southampton Publick House, Jeff "Chief" O'Neil and Eric "Hutch" Kugeman from Ithaca Beer Co., and special guest Steve Altimari from Valley Brewing Co. in Stockton, California will join forces in Ithaca, NY inside the Ithaca Beer Co. brew house to create a collaborative super brew titled - what else but, Super Friends. The day of brewing will be done in private and no tours will be available, but fear not, our Super Friends will emerge from the Hall of Justice that evening at 8:00PM to battle wits against the Legion of Doom at bar Korova on the Commons in Ithaca, NY - or the Hall of Doom as we like to call it for the sake of this analogy. Korova will offer beers on tap from each respective Super Friends' home brewery, and the entire League of Justice themselves will be there to talk all things beer.
Super Friends, the beer, will be available for growler fills at the Ithaca Beer Co.'s Tasting Room starting around late July. Please check the Ithaca Beer Co. webpage (www.ithacabeer.com) in early July for official release date. Super Friends will also be on draft at popular craft beer bars in the Manhattan Metro area shortly thereafter.

Ithaca Beer to launch NEW Seasonal on Jan. 28th!
2010-01-13
We are pleased and excited to announce a new addition to our Seasonal Brand line-up, Ground Break American-Style Saison Ale. Always looking ahead, Ithaca Beer celebrates the many harbingers of Spring with this new ale.
When we say American, we mean hoppy! Ground Break is brewed with generous amounts of Amarillo, Crystal, and Glacier hops in addition to flaked rye. Its fermented with a blend of Belgian and American yeasts.
Coming in around 6% ABV, this ale is one delicious beer to enjoy as you keep watchful eye of those first few signs of Spring like the first buds on tree branches and bulbs breaking through the snow melt.
Ground Break will be available at the brewery on Thursday, January 28, 2010, and will appear in the market shortly thereafter. Ground Break will be available for a limited time (February - April) on draft, in 6-packs, cases, and also inside variety packs.

Excelsior! Twelve Available TUESDAY, DECEMBER 22nd!
2009-12-18
What better way to start our 12th year in business than with our 12th Anniversary Excelsior! Ale. Twelve as we lovingly call it, is a Monastery-style Quadruple Ale reverently brewed with French malts, German hops then piously fermented with a special blend of Trappist yeast strains. Enjoy the burnished chestnut color, remarkable balance of fruity and spicy aromas, rich but dry flavor and long contemplative finish.
Twelve will be available starting Tuesday, Dec. 22, 2009 at the brewery and will hit store shelves very soon after!

Two hundred forty-seven beers and ciders from 53 breweries and cideries representing 15 states and four foreign countries entered the competition. Forty-five professional brewers and beer industry journalists acted as judges in a blind tasting format. First, second and third place awards were presented in 20 categories of ales, lagers and ciders. The judges knew only the style and subcategory of each beer and cider.
